Yup, all you need to provide to interested folks is your name and member ID number.

It's like our very own MLM scheme. Danc46 sponsored me, and I sponsored 25 others, and one of those 25 (dclark77) has sponsored 17 more. Hopefully folks will continue to pay it forward!

Thanks so much Meta4! I called this afternoon and got my life membership. I went through option 2 renewals, rather than option 3 life memberships. The person at option 3 (Jenny) wasn't going to let it work. However, Andrea at option 2 was awesome and very quick. Thanks again!

I think that weblink was taken down. I would try to call, and see if you can get it to work that way.

My life membership is now active so I can share the $300 offer with whoever needs it. The girl on the phone said to do it I would need to call in and provide the information of the person that I wanted to sponsor. However, when I got my membership earlier this week I called in and just gave the name, zip code and membership number of my sponsor.

Hey everyone. I became a member of this forum quite a while ago and found some great info here before I got my first AR-15. Now I have been an infantryman with the Corps for a few years and have moved on to M249's and M240's ;) but I still love all guns. A forum that I am on very frequently suggested that someone here may be able to help me with a life member-sponsored membership to the NRA and I found this thread. I know I haven't contributed to ar15.com as much as some but if anyone wants to give a deployed grunt a hand before I get back to the states it would make my freakin day.

Currently I'm deployed to Southern Helmand Province for at least another month but if we can do it while I'm here then sign me up. If not I would love to get this taken care of as soon as I get back. If no one here is able to help out does anyone know of a place I could go to get this? I would love to be a life member but I usually just can't afford it.

Here's me on a patrol in the Southern Green Zone of Sangin District

Thanks to anyone who can help. If you are able to please e-mail me at devldogs55@gmail.com

The membership is not a free deal. The receiving member still has to pay the $300 tithe NRA, which is over 1/3 less then normal life membership. I would be willing to sponsor you, however if you are not able to call the NRA from your FOL then I would say that it would probably be best for you to repost once you get back home. I'm not sure if my 'grace period' to sponsor new members will be up by then, that's why I say repost when you get home and surely they'll be some newly signed up members who can still sponsor you.

Now, I do know about a program where people will purchase an annual membership to the NRA for the troops but im not exactly sure how you would go about obtaining one of those memberships. Hopefully someone else can chime in who knows.

Until then, be safe out there and god speed.

Thanks, I understand it's still a $300 membership but I can totally swing that. That's what made it so appealing to me. I got the e-mail and I'm gonna see if I can sign up online from here. If not I'll try again when I get back to the states.

Thanks!

Looks like they no longer offer a way for you to claim this offer online so I'll have to wait about a month or so until I'm home to call in. Thanks again

So is this something that is going on almost year round as new members become life members? If so I may have to hit someone up when my taxes get done next year, or maybe I can convince my wife to let me use some of my extra money I will be earning while in Korea.
