Is it legit or a scam? It is from "Yingling V. Ebay Inc. Settlement Fund". It says it has something to do with final value fees from 05-09. Unfortunately I won't be rich as the check is only for $3.76.
Cash it or no? |
|
I got one too..... Mine's for $1.60 I am gonna cash mine what cvould it hurt? Worst case my bank charges me back for $1.60? I can afford it!

I received a notice that a check is ready to be sent to me. It is for $1,234,789.03.
But first, I need to wire them $5,000 to have the check released. |
|
Mine was for $1.36.
I'll try not to spend it all in one place. Funny thing is, I don't recall either buying or selling on ebay motors in the time frame covered by that suit. |
|
Mine was for $1.09. I'm not sure if I even want to fool with it just in case it's a scam................

Far better to make a trip and burn gas to go somewhere else, because there's no way they'll be worried about the validity of the check! |
|
Mine was for $2.17. I figured, hey it's better than $0 dollars so I stuck it in the savings account.

I sold a $9K motorcycle in late 2006 and believe I got a letter as well. I'm not holding my breath for any check much less one that is more than $5

Did anybody actually know about the class action and enroll? If it's an auto enroll, I'm likely due a couple bucks myself.

Forgot to add that I got one a couple of weeks ago. It was for a couple of bucks. I didn't really pay too much attention to it.
I'll look Monday. |
|
Are you all getting them in the mail today or over the last few weeks?

Legit. US District Court for Northern District of California Case No C-09-01733.
Still have the original notice from last spring. $30 million payout. |

These class action lawsuits are a joke. I once got a free rental as a result of a class action against Blockbuster. THe actual "victims" literally get a buck or two. IT is the lawyers who get millions based on thier "fees." Just another lawyer money making scam.

The idea is to lump many too-small-to-sue plaintiffs together so that the settlement is substantial enough that the company may think twice before swindling large groups of people for small amounts again. |

Bingo! And let's not forget that the lawyers likely spent a good chunk of time and money pursuing it. |

Woohoo! $6.73.
Glad to know I helped make another lawyer rich. All class action and bankruptcy settlements do is make lawyers money. I'd have rather seen payments under $X go to a charity. Don't forget to cash your check by December 22, 2011. |
|
$2.04 for me.
Gonna frame my first settlement check. Hopefully the next one is worth a few bucks more |

mine was for $1.75 after the lawyers took their $29+ Remember this. The only people that get paid in a class action suit are the lawyers. If you're not a lawyer, you're likely signing rights away for a check that won't even buy a value meal at McD's. |

$0.10 Dang, I thought mine might be the lowest at $0.13. |

Mine was for 8.75 Its ligit. Lawyers making millions on some technicality

give me a sec and ill upload a pic of the worthless check that cost more to mail it |

ok here it is a whole 5 cents http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f80/jeepjustin2002/IMG_20111204_110428.jpg I'm rich compared to you. Mine was for $0.26. I have no idea what I bought. |
