You can find his mugshot here:
http://news.brevardtimes.com/2011/11/brevard-county-sheriffs-office-raids_04.html Apparently his business practices caught up with him. First reported on BrevardTimes.com, the Brevard County Sheriff's Office raided a Cape Canaveral business located at 8700 Commerce Street at around 6:00 p.m. yesterday. Public records show that the business located at this address is that of Jonathan Arthur Ciener, Inc., a company that advertises gun conversion kits on www.22lrconversions.com. Jonathan Arthur Ciener was arrested and charged with schemes to defraud less than $20,000, which is a third degree felony. |

Couldn't have happened to a nicer person cockholster National Public Penis Storage and Servicing Device.
Hay guise, what JAC conversion kit d'you think will work best for him after Bubba bores his ass out to 12ga? |
People always said he was an asshole, but I never heard he was a crook.
I like his products and admire that he was kind of a trailblazer in the field. |
He must have pissed off someone with clout. Gossip of his customer service practices are legendary
The guy lost a good 60% of his revenue when his patent expired for the AR15 .22 Kits.
He was a fucking scumbag and im glad CMMG stepped in to fill the void with better CS and support for their products.

FL finally passed a law against being an asshole? I'm guessing that's the heart of the matter here. More so than an intentionally scam like the charges make it sound. |

FL finally passed a law against being an asshole? Yeah, but only if they're assholes who apparently defraud quite a sum of money out of people. |

he is an ass, but his conversions are the best I have ever had the joy of using.
damn it...I hope that CMMG comes out with their anti bounce kit and sear trip soon.

As others have said, his assholish nature towards his customers is legendary, but I wonder what specifically he is being charged for.
I own two of his kits... They work great. Bought em both second hand after reading about his legendary douche-ness in the CS department. I never would have done business with him after the horror stories floating around for YEARS.
I bought one of his conversions for my AR-15 a few years ago. I keep it cleaned and well oiled and have never had a problem with it, so I never had to deal with his "customer service". Based on what I've read, he looks about like I would expect. A bitter, hateful little troll.
His beltfed antics made Shrike look like LaRue. He was a total asshole in 1985, and still is.
. |
He is probably being charged for money he took from customers but never delivered a product. Then when you call or write to ask on the status of your order he would bill you $15!!!!!
There are numerous reports of people ordering stuff and never receiving. It is even documented with the cashing of postal money orders. I will only buy his stuff second hand, he was an ass to me on the phone back 2005. |
If convicted of the felony charge, will he be permitted to work for his own (Class II) company?

I have a direct contact with the guy. 20 years ago, I bought a AR15 22LR conversion semi-auto kit from the guy, after the 5K round the conversion fails to eject, and it gets feed problem. I sent it back to him 2 times and I paid the postage both ways, he did nothing.
The guy lost a good 60% of his revenue when his patent expired for the AR15 .22 Kits. He was a fucking scumbag and im glad CMMG stepped in to fill the void with better CS and support for their products. Moral of the story: "DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM JAC" BTW: Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. |

I was at Knob Creek one time when he had a big pile of his conversion kits for sale and a man arrived who had ordered on line or by phone and was given the old "backorder" run around. The guy got pissed and it almost came to a fight because Ceiner would not give him one there and insisted he had to wait for his order to be filled. Ceiner was wearing a pirate hat the entire time. Appropriate. |
He must've dyed his hair. Last time I saw him at Knob Creek, he was almost totally gray.
If you ordered a kit from his site, you'd be on a six month (or longer) back order. But, if you went to the Knob Creek MG Shoot, you could get one right away, albit for a hefty mark-up. If I were one of those people on the waiting list and saw them for sale at The Creek, I'd probably have slapped him across the cockholster.
Luckily, CMMG rocks. |

Everyone had heard of "somebody" he had hung up on or held a payment for months before shipping product but most of the stories I heard the customer ended up hateing the guy but got the goods in the long run. I myself have used the AR conversion for years but never delt directly with the guy or had reason to call him. |

Quoted:
I use a M261. Same here and the reason is the horror stories I've read over the years about that tool. Great if it runs but you are fucked if it don't. |
I've been running a Ceiner conversion for several years, it's a great product.
Go figure. |
its probably the work of that cop in miami he he fucked over. there was some epic threads in hometown fl.
I bought one of his kits from him in person at Knob Creek. He was not rude or short with me. I came back next year with a question about my kit (the anti bounce weight was peening) and he helped me straighten it out and made me a deal on an extra anti bounce weight and trip sear for my M16.

We used to say the only reason for JAC (hole) to exist was to make Tim LaFrance look like a prince.
His comeuppance has taken way too long. . |

I've always loved the $10 charge for an update on order status.
Due to the QUALITY / PERFORMANCE of our products, the UN-PRESIDENTED increase in costs of ammunition and it's unavailability,
the long preached viability of our "CIENER" .22LR Conversion Units has created such demand that WE ARE SWAMPED with orders! Please to understand that checking the status of your order detracts valuable resources from filling orders ahead of you, thereby slowing shipment of your order. If you can not understand and appreciate this then MAIL your inquiry. You MUST include: 1) FULL name and address w/ zip code the order was placed under 2) STAMPED self addressed envelope 3) USPS Money Order for $10.00 to cover the research expense SORRY, but any other form of inquiry can not be addressed. |
IIRC this isn't the first time, though the charges are more serious this time around. |

There is some one on uzitalk i think about 3 years ago who did that and got a letter in the mail from them saying the website was wrong and the charge is now $15. And because they had to send out a notice he was invoiced an additional $10 + $5 missing from the original postal money order. |
