Big 5, a sporting goods chain in the south west now carries AKs, SKSs, M1 carbines and tactical shotguns when in the past all they sold were fudd guns (870s with 30 in. barrels and budget priced Remington 770s and Savage boltguns).

Kmart and Sports authority used to sell guns and ammo. Looks like things are coming back around. Wouldnt know about K-mart though. Ever since they hired that cunt rosie the fat dike anti gun hipocrit Odonell i wont set foot in their stores, ever. But that was a good business decision. Now they are like a dime store or something. They used to have a really good sporting goods section in the 80's and early 90's.

Bass Pro Shops purchased KMart's sporting goods line and retooled/rebranded it as their Red Head line.

True story.

The bass pro north of here also has plenty of tacticool rifles now, as well as an entire isle of tacticool accessories, AR mags etc.

Actually, as I walked quickly through the sporting goods area (we're broke, was sent to get milk on the way home from work) which just happened to be on the opposite side of the store, I noticed a nice cylindrical glass case, lighted no less, with several long guns and shotguns.

I *do* live in KY, though.  We're OK with that shit here.

Don't forget jeans and an R rated movie.

Just buy the gun last, because after you get it they escort you out...

I bought a 10/22 on sale once but had a few more things to get, the manager said no problem just come back to ring up in sporting goods and he'd escort me out.

Went back ten minutes later and they called in to NICS a second time, you know just in case I was convicted a felony in the last ten minutes.

Our Walmart had a blow up BB gun shooting range set up out front this morning. A moon bounce with guns. I thought now that's cool.

Walmart stopped selling guns in Ca in 2002 IIRC. They were caught multiple time releasing firearms before the 10 day background/ wait period was up. Walmart lost there FFL in the state.

Yes the 10 day wait sucks, but it was the Walmart employees that mishandled the firearms (according to the law) that lost it for the state. Our Walmart here had good prices and I bought a rifle from them years ago.

Every wal mart I've ever seen that carries guns has mini-14's, which I don't really consider tacticool, especially considering the basic model comes with a 5 round mag.

Plus, for 650 which is actually about 700 out the door, you can easily have a cheap AR or spend an extra 100 bucks and get a name brand. You can pick up Colt carbines for 1100.

There's no point in buying a mini anymore.

Regardless of how it's marketed it doesn't change the fact that its an AR pattern rifle being presented to the sheep as "acceptable"
