I find that every 2 or so years I change car insurance companies. Each time I do I end up getting the same coverage for a cheaper price. I started with Geico in 2004, went to AIG in 2006, then Progressive in 2008, and Travelers in 2010. Looking at Progressive again I see I can get a better rate from them that what they wanted to give me one year ago

Have had Allstate since 2003. I have tried to get cheaper rates and they have always been the cheapest. No need to change yet.

My parents have had Nationwide for 20 years or so, so naturally I have stayed with them also. My middle sister also has stayed with them. We have had the same agent for 20 years, and has helped out when called.

Been with Farmers since '99 or so.  Had full coverage since '03 this was on a Focus. Traded the Focus in last year for an '10 F150. Premium went up $15 bucks a month.  Was very happy with that.  A couple weeks ago I traded the '10 in on an '11 F150.  Almost the exact same truck except it had the 5.0 vs the 5.4 Premium went up $60 a month.  1A Ultra preferred, no tickets, no accidents, no claims other than auto glass stuff.  Had to let Farmers go.   Ended up with Allstate and it was $27 cheaper than I was originally paying.  With better coverage

Same company for quite a while.

The only time I went to another company was when I had a sportbike that my usual company wouldn't insure.

I have saved SO much money by changing every 6 months.

Also, ringing them up and asking for a better price works wonders.

Its lazy, and you are probably costing yourself money if you stay with the same company. Of course, they are counting on that....

My insurance agent has my provider maybe 3 times in the last decade or so. Have the renewal coming up in June so we will see if they do it again.

I've been with State Farm since '92.

I'm paying $260 a month for 7 vehicles, three with full coverage.

And two under 25 drivers.

I called GEICO and did not save 15%.

About to dump USAA after almost 10 years, they're great and everything but their rates keep steadily increasing. Farm Bureau, where my homeowners insurance is at, just quoted me $800 less a year for the same coverage on two vehicles. USAA won't write homeowners in my area so I gotta go where the multi line discount is.

I'm turning 25 at the end of the month. I'll be checking around.

E46 M3 costs $700ish a year right now.
09' R1 is $450 a year.
Suburban is $300.

Hope to see that cut in half or better.

Seeing all those numbers is depressing. :(

State Farm since 1988, and I go in to the office and pay direct.  They know me by name and I spend a few minutes bullshitting with them.

I've been with Progressive since 2005.

Before ARFCOM bitches about that, every time I call All State or Nationwide they are unable to give me the same level of coverage. Sure they can match the payment but the coverage is shit.

Switching from Nationwide who wanted $480 for 6 months to cover 2 vehicles to State Farm who only wants $330 for the same coverage.  I'll be switching my home owners policy from Nationwide to SF as well

I've been with Geico for 8 years now.  It's either stayed the same or gone down each year so I've had little motivation to change.  I'm not lacking with coverage either.  When I looked into getting auto coverage with the company that has my homeowners it was almost double.

Started with Geico for liability only $80/mo., switched to State Farm and now I'm paying $40 a month for full coverage and they also carry my homeowners insurance.

There is no company that offers the best deal for every person. You have to get quotes from different companies online and see which companies can provide you with the best price: www.quotes-center.com/auto-insurance-calculator

I've had USAA my whole life and have never looked elsewhere. Their rates are at least competitive, but more importantly, they won't fuck me over if I have to make a claim - which is more than I can say for Allsnake and State Smarm.

No, your local sales guy and his staff know you and bullshit you to keep you happy.

State Farm could not give a shit less about you. You'll learn that if you ever have to make any significant claim, or if someone else who is insured by State Farm drives into you and you have to deal with their claims people.
