I know it's not "allowed", but is it legal in general to sell ammo through sites like that?  Once and a while I see something good on there, but don't want to risk anything illegal.

I don't see why it would be illegal. Its just like selling on the EE or the pennysaver...

In IL all we have to do is put FOID in the title and we can sell anything.  I guess it is the only benefit to having to have a FOID card.

Yes, as long as you abide by state laws where you are sending it.

I get my stuff taken off all the time, stuff that is NOT ILLEGAL or against their rules (i.e. 870 stocks). You can always try Armslist It's pretty good, I've used it a few times.

You've been on ARFCom for years, and you're not sure selling ammo online is legal?

Yes, as a general rule, it is. The communist states may have issue with it, but in free America it's fine, and the fact that this question need be asked concerns me.

You have to believe the buyer is legally old enough to buy the ammo, and have no reasonable cause to believe they are a felon. If CL has an issue, they can fuck themselves. Worst they can do is ban your IP.

Careful with CL though... Lots of thieves, nutcases and jackasses.

I got a nice Colt Trooper off Craigslist. I called the number. A guy answers, only to find out he's one street over from me.
"Come on over and take a look".

But there are flagging Nazis that remove any ad with a hint of firearm content...

Ya that's pretty much what I thought.  Never done it before, so just wanted to be careful ya know?  With all the crazy laws in this country, I wouldn't be surprised if something like this was illegal.

If you are making the ammo to sell, you need a manufacturer's license.

Stolen Suzuki Samurai's and pirated software are fine... But don't dare sell anything that is perfectly legal but offends hippies.

Backpage.com is great for gun & ammo sales.

Fuck craigslist.

There's a guy in my area who gets pretty creative with his gun listings, so that they don't get flagged.  I think his last one was "used laser sight mounting platforms".
