When you talk to a mechanic reference to the car as you are setting in the driver seat lookin forward. Left side=side the driver sits on.

Depends if you have just rolled the car onto its roof i suppose. But its the passenger side here where i live...

Off topic, but does the pedals in a left hand drive car still go clutch, brake, accelerator? (left to right)

Yes, and the shifter's in the middle. Quite a mind-trip.

Well, your left front tire is the one directly in front of the driver on a left hand drive car.

If you tell him you have a left front tire problem/wheel bearing/etc and you really mean the one of the passenger side, you could wind up with a problem.

Most people don't believe it but IF you can drive a standard it takes about 1 time shifting through the gears and you don't even think about shifting with your left hand.

When I was working on Barbados, I could get rentals with manual trannies.  The biggest problem I had was trying to forget that pulling the lever to me and forward on a right hand drive was not first gear.

I don't use 'left' or 'right' for the very reason that it depends on if you're in the car or out.  It's always 'driver' or 'passenger' side.

If you tell a mechanic you have a problem with your left front brake he will know which side you mean. If he doesn't find a new mechanic.

They must get really confused when you ask for a inner outer tie rod.
