Reassembling Ruger P95 (decocker) after cleaning and the guide rod slipped out of position or something and now the slide is stuck.  The guide rod is sticking out about 3/8 of an inch past where it should be, the slide release pin hole is obstructed (partially by the guide rod and partially by the top of the trigger), the trigger will not budge, the hammer will move to the rear and back but will not lock back, the slide is about 1/8" forward from where it should be when reassembled and it will pull back that 1/8" but no more.

How do I remedy this

Drive the slide off the frame with a plastic mallet.

or  compress the exposed portion of the guide rod against a hard surface then pull the trigger when it fully goes back in.

Disassemble it again if you can.  It's been a while since I owned a P95 but you probably put the guide rod in backwards.

Is your ejector down?  If not, try to find a way to push it down and see if that unsticks the slide.

Winner.  Thanks.

I tried doing that on the floor, but I think I wasn't pushing hard enough and the flooring had too much give to it.  I did it against the desk just now and it popped back into place.

Thanks to everyone who stopped in w/ a suggestion.
