I like the Who, and think Pete is a musical genius. But he wasn't charged because he was Pete Townsend, not because there was doubt about who owned the computer or who downloaded it. He did, but he said it was for "research" for a book he was writing. That's where the "just doing research" meme regarding child porn came from. That being said, CP has turned into "I smelled marijuana" for prosecutors - basically an invitation to get into one's life and computer and do whatever the hell they want. There have been cases where prosecutors put people on trial for child porn because the actress "looked" under 18. One in particular was actually subpoenaed for 3 different cases and had to go to court and testify that she was in her 20's, here is her birth certificate and driver's license, and been cross examined like she was a fraud. (For those interested, her porn name was Melissa Ashley). There are scumbags out there that shouldn't see the light of day. There are also 16 year old girls sending nude selfies. |
