Looks like one will be opening up here soon.

Do they sell firearms?

Any better than Dick's or Sports Authority?

Don't know what Dicks or Sports Authority is but I go to Academy more often than Wal-Mart

Better than both of those. Good prices, too. The stores here in Texas have guns.

Academy is like Dick's. Yes, they sell firearms. I think they handle handguns and rifles.

Prices are about the same. I think the service in the fun shop depends on local personnel.

The one's I have met at the counter were nice to deal with.

The one here sells guns, and I have bought a handgun there at a decent price. They also had a few AR's. The local Dick's has a better selection of Fudd guns, but doesn't sell any handguns and doesn't seem to like black rifles.

Yes, they are good.

Prices are acceptable and they sometimes will give you 5% if you ask.

Good assortement of rifles and pistols and carry lots of different ammo and have killer sales once in a while.

They beat the hell out of SA and Dicks in both price and selection.

You're gonna like Academy. They stock AR-15s and all kinds of scary looking guns.

Fishing department is outstanding as well.

The one next to me stocks ARs and pistols. Pretty good prices on ammo and other stuff. I buy running shoes there.

i like academy a lot. prices aren't as good as wal mart but selection is much much better. i wasn't impressed with dicks' hunting and fishing section at all. only downside to my academy is they have a bunch of high school kids working there who stand around and do nothing and are zero help when you have a question.

Academy is ok, they have guns, kind of like walmart.

Dicks sucks. It's an "outdoor store" for yuppies.

They used to sell cases (1K rounds) of Q3131A for $180.00...

For sure better than Dicks or Sports Authority. The gun counter is meh. About gun shop quality and much better than Walmart or Gander Mountain. A little better prices with a higher functioning retard employee usually than the others. I find their clothes to be priced pretty well.

They're OK. It just seems when I go by on my lunch break to pick up some ammo, there some idiot looking at a Ruger and you have to wait about 30 minutes. I usually end up at Wally World for ammo. Oh, and Ed's Public Safety for Glocks.
