Ok it has officially been one year since I decided to buy a Match Target from a local gunstore.  365 days later I now own three AR's two additonal uppers about 30 various mags and enough other parts to force me to dedicate the bottom of my guncase to them.  The total is way beyond what my first three cars cost me combined.  To top it off I'm presently saving to buy an M16.  My name is darwindog and I am an ARaholic.......

I hear ya brother! Just wait until you've had the "bug" for 5 or more years! You'll be amazed at what you just have to have, even though you never needed one before. The AR platform is so upgradeable that there is literally no end to it. Sure is fun though, and it just may save your life someday....

I've only had my first 'personal' AR for 9 days and I'm already looking into my next. I've been buying brass & powder like cazy lately.

I admit it, I have a 'plinking' problem.

The problem with the AR is that there are TOO MANY configurations available:

1. Bull barrel
2. Space gun
3. 20" Milspec
4. M4
5. Preban
6. Postban
7. 16"
8. SBR
9. Scoped Flattop
10.40 cal / 9 mm / 7.62 x 39 / other
11.HBAR
12.gov't barrel
13.A2
14.DCM legal
15.Defense
16.Full auto
17.Burst
18.fixed stock / telestock

and a thousand others.

I GOTTA HAVE ONE OF EACH!!!!!!!!

For me it's the upper/lower configuration that's the problem.  Other rifles you have to pay for the whole weapon at once.  With an AR you can buy "half", then the other half later !

I started out with a complete rifle.  After getting another upper, I saw a lower for sale at a local gunshop.  It only made sense (to us) to buy it [:D] !

Having all the different parts/accessories on the market doesn't help either ....

Maybe so, but not always. the garand really gives me a hardon when i shoot it. the ar, however, IS today`s tecnology, and definitely is fun...(all in the eye of the beholder`).....[frag]

It's just that it has too many "trinkets".

Problem?
I DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM with my ARs,
I have it under control. I can handle it!

(God, just one more- this'll be the LAST time, I promise, just an upper, PLEASE)...

Sorry, but from sheer American numbers, I would say it is the Ruger 10-22.
Internationally it is the AK. Even in America, there are probably more AK shooters than AR.

I think that it is more the type of rifle then the rifle.  I love all para-military rifles.
AR, AK, HK, FAL...  I prefer my AR but I love them all.... And I can never have enough of them.  The only question is which one do I buy next?
