Broke in the new Saiga 12 this morning with 200 rounds of 1.125 oz traploads, 20 rounds of various buck and slug loads and 30 rounds of some left over 3" Nitro steel shot I had from duck season. Never bothered to check of steel shot was OK in the Saiga barrel. Since its chrome lined I would hope so but before I shoot any more, I would like to hear from someone who actually knows.

When I clean the gun, the barrel came real clean and looks fine.

are you serious, no one knows if a Saiga barrel is rated for steel shot?? I have yet to stump ARFCOM.

I think it will live. The only reason you can't shoot steel out of a shotgun is because its old. Old steel wasn't as good. Now we have good steel. It's ok.

Yes and no. The difference is the chokes.

Bottom line is RTFM I think...if it has screw-in chokes, and they come out easily, you didn't mess it up.
