i keep trying to log in with the name i registered with, its the same name and password as the old board. It keeps saying that something isnt right. When I try to get a new password, it changes my screen name from new-arguy to newar-guy. When I log in under newar-guy with the temporary password i am emailed, and try to change the password it switches back to new-arguy. When I type in the new password I type in the password I have always had. It acepts it, but then when I try to log in again it wont let me in. What do you think is wrong??

Ok what happened is that your username and your login name are different...

I changed them both to be new-arguy. The ability to have a different login name and username is there for those who wish to protect themselves a bit further. So you may see my posts under the name "GoatBoy", but my login may be "GoatMan."

There is nothing saying your names cannot match, which many people do. It's just an added flexibility for those who wish to take advantage of it.

When I came to the new board a few days back, I created a new account using my old name and old password. I am still unable to login under new-arguy with this password. Each time I try it says something is wrong with my password. I have to hit that "forgot password" link and am sent a new password every time. When I log in with that new temp password, I go to the "change password" link and try to change it back to the regular password. But it never works, or it hasn't so far.
