I'm not at liberty to discuss the origin of this post, but I have been requested to create a poll to gauge interest. I don't want to steal any thunder from Jake-The-Snake and his thread, but since it was asked of me to create it, here it is. If we get enough interest and enough votes, we WILL have our forum.

Please, help if you're interested in having a diving forum.

Meh, those are easy.

Tell her to go away for a year or so, stop emailing, stop texting, block all accounts, etc etc... When she still doesn't go away, supply pictures of self + new and improved girlfriend.

...it's what I did.

Would you settle for the ability to share tips tricks stories and pictures with fellow divers and enjoy the antics and dive trip threads?

If yes..then we have a deal.

No promises on the stroke thing.

Is my dad's enormous old Buck Nemo DIR? It looks cool and is black.

I'm fairly inexperienced though certified in '91. I'm trying to influence one of my coworkers to buddy up & work together to take fundies as a team. Until then, I'm mostly a landlocked armchair DIR diver.

Let's get a few starter topics:
Back-kicking and helicopter turns in split fins?
Where should I keep my snorkel?
How much bottom time can I expect from Spare Air?
Loop a hose around your neck? That's a strangulation hazard, so go Air Source?
What brands of retractable leash and carabiners should I use to secure gear?

Most of the diving forums are full of "guns are icky" types. It would be nice to be able to discuss these things here.

IMHO, everyone who dives should get the Rescue rating. Not only will you be able to help someone, but the things you learn will make you a better diver.

Colorado, is or used to have the 2nd highest per capita for certified divers
2nd only to FL

our diving isnt anything great.. we got reservoirs... bleh

Cold and low visibility.

when it's "warm" (mostly warm air temps, as water is still High 60's to Low 70's (if you're lucky), we take students to get their OW at Aurora or Chatfield.
In the winter time, Homestead Crater in UT (very warm, good viz, but isolated) or The Blue Hole in NM (cold but clear)

That said, the Caribbean is a short plane ride away from DIA and
CO has a high percentage of people who get outdoors alot.. so not too hard to get your head around.

I did my OW in the FL Keys.. I feel sorry for our students that get it here.

I see a lot of gun references in certain areas of scubaboard, and even some on decostop. Yorkshire Divers doesn't seem to have much gun discussion, however.
