I've been seeing it show up in some stores.  Is it really worth $130?

Reviews on line seem to be favorable.

I love Bookers but I can get 2 bottles for that price.

Granted, the KC is going to be double the age - 13 vs 6 years.   So that has to add to the flavor profile. The proof is a little less on the KC too.

So, in your opinion how does it compare to Bookers and is it worth twice the price?

I picked up a bottle of this tonight, while picking up another special order.  I'll probably get it open at some point this week and definitely let you know how it is!

OK, I opened it tonight!

Brief thoughts:

Nose:  I was expecting to be knocked off my chair with a strong aroma here but I was WRONG.  Its amazingly subtle and oh so good...  I pick up some sweet vanilla at first and some kind of fruit, almost like a chocolate orange.  I can also get a very slight bit of charred wood scent underlying it all, if I take a very deep whiff in the glass.

Taste:  Again, this does not drink like a 122 proof whiskey.  It feels thick, definitely has heat but in a slow and friendly way.  Looongg warmth and "decay" in my mouth and down into my chest.  Its tastes like it smells.  Flavors are deep and rich, like I imagine drinking a dark old bourbon, sitting by a fire in a dark old cabin should be.  If you're a fan of Knob Creek, this strikes me as an older and more refined seasoned veteran grandpa version of it.

After half the glass, I added about 4 drops of water.  Lightened it up noticeably, lost some of that "dark richness" I was enjoying.  I prefer it without water.

I have to say I like it.  Want to try another couple of glasses but I might try and grab a second bottle of this.

Thanks for the review.   Sounds tasty.

I'm going to pick up some Jefferson Ocean Cask Strength this weekend and then probably get the KC 25 next.

At $125+ I only have a budget for 1 a week.

Thanks again.
