I can't answer that Piccolo but Gillette used to buy up certain railroad rails due to their alloy. IIRC they were forged in 1928.

I know that won't help your search I just had a Cliff Claven moment.

Nope. For a while they bought destroyer escorts, the ones that they built at Hingham shipyard, in Hingham, MA.
