Looking for a new AS splash. Looking for a strong winter smell. Maybe sandalwood

Nobody wears aftershaves .
But if you feel you absolutely must it has to be Hoppes #9.
All the rest are so high-school.

For a Sandalwood AS splash, I use Captain's Choice. The scent is great; like a true Sandalwood and not heavily laden with Clove or Cinnamon like many others. The scent doesn't last as long as I'd like, but it leaves the skin feeling smooth and refreshed all day. In colder, drier months, I sometimes switch to Art of Shaving Sandalwood balm. That stuff if great! Leaves the skin feeling moisturized and supple all day and the scent lasts pretty long.

Captain's Choice North is decent for winter. It has a cool pine and juniper scent to it. However, I always find myself wandering back to a Sandalwood of some sort for the Fall/Winter and Captain's Bay Rum in the warmer months...

I like Fine American Blend aftershave. I use it year round. Fine Accoutrements has a few other scents too, including sandalwood.

Proraso Red is a great aftershave. It came out on the market last summer. It has a great sandalwood scent. It will leave your face feeling pretty moisturized, which is great for winter.

If you want a great smell for winter, then Pinaud Virgin Island Bay Rum is what I'd recommend. Be warned though, it is clove heavy and will burn like hell. Alternatively, Col. Conk's is a decent bay rum for winter.

So just wanted to update this thread.  So far I've tried six of the Em's Place, most of them I really like except for Woodstock, just not my style.  I've tried several companies in the past and so far Son of Zeus from Razorock and 4711 are one of my favorites.

During the cold months I really like Black Ship Grooming Co. Wassail. It is described as "Our special holiday blend of Apple Cider, nutmeg, cinnamon and oranges. A holiday scent that will create memories for you. This unique scent is one of our family favorites every year at Christmas. We hope it will be for you too." and I can testify that all of those scents comes through and reminds me of baked apples (the fancy kind that has whole cinnamon sticks, some nutmeg, orange zest, maybe a few cranberries and some butter & brown sugar baked with some apple cider in the bottom of the pan).

One of my favorites is Lucky Tiger Aftershave and Face Tonic, another one I like is Thayers cucumber witch hazel.
