How many passes do you make?  Lather + shave is one pass.  Lather + shave again is second pass.  Lather + shave again is third pass.

Many shavers do one pass with the beard growth grain, second pass cross grain, and third path against the grain.

I make enough shave cream to do two or three passes, but usually only do two.  First pass with the growth grain.  Second pass I do against the grain in most places, but probably cross grain in some areas?

Same as you, two passes and then the little touch up areas...didn't realize my facial hair grew in so many directions!

Three, sometimes more.

Three on the cheeks along my beard line, two on the neck under the beard line - with the grain and against.

Two. First pass with the grain. Second pass a combo of across and against since my beard grows in so many effed up directions.

Three. One with, one diagonal, and one against the grain.
It keeps my feather blades from chewing up my face.

2 pass if I shave daily.  3 pass if I skip a day or more.

I only shave Monday, Wednesday, Friday.
Three passes: with the grain, across the grain, against the grain.
I'm using a Harry's razor. I change the blade once a month, so 12 shaves per cartridge.

Straight razor one pass with the grain and I don't have 5 o'clock shadow but I have to shave daily that way. With the 3 pass system I don't have to shave for 2 or 3 days but I like my razor collection too much to use them so infrequently.

I use a straight razor most days... One pass does it, the pass mixes with and angle.
I use a DE Safety occasionally, it takes at least two passes to get near as smooth... With followed by angle.

Three passes two with and one against the grain followed up with some light buffing on the high spots under the chin and on the sides .

Usually just two- safety razor w/ feather blades with then across.  When I shave against the grain I tend to get ingrown hairs.

Two. I'm only going to work.
When I first started wet shaving it bugged me to have to make multiple passes, then I realized I was doing probably 20 or 30 with an electric.

3 passes every three days

3 passes on Monday, 2 on Tue-Fri, zero on the weekend. Usually don't re-lather between passes either, just re-wet.

One pass against the grain, and a little touch up if required.

2
Really only my neck needs more than 1 since I have a goatee.

Normally just 2 passes but I just went 3 for a BBS shave and damn was it a close shave I can grow a beard in 10 minutes and won't have to shave for a few days.

Usually 2 to 3 passes depending on my beard growth.

I use a DE razor and 2 usually is good enough, when I do the 3rd pass its just a cleanup pass.

One pass (with the grain), unless I'm going somewhere that requires a neater presentation. I work in a fairly large steel fabrication facility and very rarely deal directly with customers, so I don't ever have to shave for work.

One, with the grain. Two if I'm going to a wedding or something, again with the grain. I have pseudofolliculitis and my face looks like hamburger meat after shaving more than once. It's a rough life.

I have the same problem on my neck area, tears me up if I make 2 or 3 passes below the chin.

1 pass with the grain usually does it pretty well for me.

3 if I have the time: WTG XTG ATG touch up
2 in a hurry : WTG ATG touch up

Only 1 for me, straight down. I use one of those barber shop straight razors with the replaceable blades.

Cheap shit made in India, but it works. Any more passes and I get ingrown hairs.

Cheers. You like it? I've heard they can be even harder to master than Straights.

I love it. I have several traditional straight razors. Some are very old that I had Max Sprecher repair and restore for me, some are just new store bought ones.

It is much easier with work and all that to change the blade out every few shaves. Now on the weekend, I'll take those old razors out and go through the process and enjoy it!

Normally just 2-3 passes and I never go ATG. Always with or XTG. ATG gives me irritation that I tend to stay away from.

If I shave one day after another, one pass will usually suffice. Usually, two passes is sufficient for me to obtain that BBS feel.

2 passes
1 WTG and then 1ATG. The ATG pass is done completely by buffing. I don't know if my technique has just gotten that good, or my face has toughened up, but I can blade buff ATG with no problem and get a nice smooth shave.

2.5 every day

1st pass: WTG on my face, bottom to top on my neck/jowels
2nd pass: XTG on my face, top to bottom on neck/jowels
2.5 pass: My jowels grow all swirly and weird at angles that are impossible for me to get comfortably with my DE, so I just do another bottom to top pass on the jowels only

Any more passes anywhere else give me slight razor burn, and that juice just isn't worth the squeeze for me. 3 passes feels the same as 2 passes everywhere else, except it doesn't burn like hot fire.
