Howdy all.

I have an old relatives LeCoultre Pocketwatch that dates back from sometime in the 1800's.  There is a small "42" inside the case. I am hoping that this is the answer to life the universe and everything.

can anyone tell me the manufacturer date or the arfcom of watch sites?

Here are a few pictures

Found this: http://jaegerlecoultreforum.com

Don't know anything about that forum, though. Let us know what you find.

The 42 is probably just to match the case parts together as it is the last two numbers of the case serial number.  I've seen it done on lots of pocket watches.

I posted on several watch forums... no replies.

I contacted LeCoultre and they will start researching the watch (for a fee). Any guesses as to the findings?

They said it would take 3 months!

Not sure of the movement number. The Serial# is 66142.

I know it is from the 1800's.

I have another Elgin pocket watch from my great grandfather that was made in 1898. I think the Lecoultre belonged to his father.

Beautiful watch

It has more than a couple complications. Since it has complications it's worth more than the average run of the mill watch.
