Now that my wife is done breastfeeding our second child, she has been stealing my shit. So I'm giving her my home setup (Evic mini, Subtank mini). I bought a TFV8 that I haven't been able to use since I didn't have anything to power it.

lol I got my predator for the exact same reason. A buddy of mine sold me a TFV8 for stupid cheap and I needed something to power it.

What batteries are you running for high wattage? I have the LG HG2's (20A continuous). My math tells me that I might need other batteries. I might be missing something so correct me if I'm wrong. The TFV8 coils I have say .15ohm. That means I could only run 60w before I hit 20A??? The batteries are in series so I don't get more amperage right?

I went off Mooch's post on reddit saying that HG2s were alright if you stay under 150 watts and don't chain vape.

I've been sticking around 110-130 watts and haven't run into any issues. I don't really chain vape at all either. I just looked and my mod says at 0.17 ohms with 140 watts it pulls 28 amps.

My guess is that these mods don't actually pull a continuous stream from the batteries but rather pulse it. I could be entirely wrong though and may be carrying a bomb.

I would think the amount of coils might make a difference. I dunno. I'm old school when it comes to this shit.

I just got a baby alien. My brother assured me only mechanical mods blow up. I'm kind of new to this so I took his advice at face value, I'm not going to 'splode am I?

Probably not but do use good batteries and you won't run the risk of it. Cheap batteries without a reputation tend to highly exaggerate their capabilities and put the users in danger.

This. I usually buy my batteries from a trusted source. My go to is Orbtronic because they are in FL and they usually show up at my house in a couple days.

My Alien has performed great. Paint is all but gone

but works fantastic. Even after dropping it in a cup of sweetened coffee

I just used liionwholesale for batteries. 4 LG HG2's a quad case and 2 day shipping for $30.

Cool, I got a Sony battery that my brother recommended. I'm really enjoying this thing now, I haven't had a dip in a week since I got it. I'm going to have to start making my own juice though because I can already tell it is going to get expensive.

56,792 puffs on mine, working like a champ. I baby mine, though, so it's in beautiful shape....if you consider 65% paint loss beautiful, lol. The think looks like it's been through hell and back.

11 months without a chew here..... started making my own juice out of necessity.... I can make a 100ml bottle for 2-4 bucks now.

Now my only problem...... I enjoy it too much!!

Buy authentic batteries, I use illumn.com and imrbatteries.com both are g2g. Check your battery wraps before you put them in your mod, if you see any rips or gouges replace the wrap before using (replacement wraps and insulators are very cheap on both websites i mentioned, good to have a pack of each laying around).

We have a whole thread on DIY juice, and there are loads of great videos on it. Less complicated (although more hazardous) than making pancakes.

I can't make pancakes worth a damn but I can make juice good enough that coworkers buy enough juice from me that I don't spend a dime on vaping.

I just today bought a Smok Alien kit, too (I'm assuming this is the same thing). I want big clouds and lots of taste, but I can tell ya, I'm already hating all the adjustments on this thing. I guess if I can set the wattage to 60 as recommended, I'll hopefully by GTG. Of course, the owner's manual that it came with is written in poorly translated English, and obviously meant for "kids" that already know how these things generally work.

If anyone has any pointers, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I went with the big baby V8.

One hell of a upgrade from a subtank on a kbox mini.

The kbox will run the smok tank at 50w just fine.

I got it working guys.

But this "baby tank" has gotta go - I can vape through that petty quick. I hope to pick up a "big baby" tank today local, or I'll order it online. But the flavor and hit intensity is everything I was hoping for, and more. This is a whole different universe as compared to the Joyetch devices I was playing with.

I just bought PG and VG nicotine juice and separate flavoring from heartland vapes, and mix it at roughly 70/30 with flavor. It would probably be cheaper if I got everything broken down further, but I didn't want to hassle with all that, and this is considerable cheaper than premade flavored juice.

I just switched out the pre-installed V12 T12 for the V12 Q4, at 90w ("best" for this one is 90-160w), and the taste is much more intense, and it's not getting nearly as hot.

I ended up with a baby, big baby, Cloud Beast and v12.

The baby sits on my Alien, I use it mostly in the car. It's ok, but flavor and cloud output are meh.
The big baby has been awesome! Maybe just got a good coil. Huge plumes and good flavor
The v12 was kind of a let down, v8 cloud beast has been better for me.

Got a new batch of my favorite juice coming, going to try cloud beast rta coil this week.

The Alien mod has been great, once I figured out how to use it

Bouncing back and fourth between it and a Kaos.
