I just happened to run across this area of the forum this morning. I've never heard of this before.

I see lots of patch discussion and items added, but no intro / explanation of what Gunstruction is, what it does, where it can be found, or how to use it. 

Is there a link to such info?

At the top between "Equipment Exchange" and "Shop AR15.COM" There is a tab labeled "Build Your Dream Rifle". That is to get to Gunstruction. It is self explanatory after that. It is a little slow/buggy, just be patient. It's a neat tool.

I play with it on occasion, but it doesn't have items from some of my favorite manufacturers so I don't get a ton of use out of it. (Dead Air, SLR Rifleworks, etc.)
If you aren't representing Jesus in a way that makes people want to hang out with you, you're doing it wrong.
