I'm looking for some suggestions on who you guys use to buy supplies.  I have been going to my local beer supply store and paying around $70 for supplies that I'm less then Pleased with.  I'm primarily brew Belgium whit beers. (Blue moon clones). Anyone have any websites that they have had good luck with? Thanks

I have not bought any brew stuff online, but if  I did, I'd start on Amazon, then google beer brewing. Iwould also.look at ads in beer brewing magazines. I am fairly self reliant, though.

I get my stuff from Amazon. No local brew stores within 100 miles of me.

I use this place, but I would suggest getting yeast locally.  http://www.midwestsupplies.com

Adventures in Homebrewing is my favorite. It helps that they are less than a 5min drive away.

Adventures is pretty good, I have a couple more used cornies on the way from them. I like that if your order included liquid yeast and you're ordering late in the week, they'll ask if you want your order held until Monday to ship so it doesn't sit in the heat. I've also had good experiences with Northern Brewer.

Northern Brewer has great service, sometimes the prices are a bit high but they have sales.

Midwest supplies is good. Morebeer is good.

When you say supplies, are you talking ingredients or equipment?

Northern Brewer is a good one to order ingredients from

As far as equipment, I like to build as much of my stuff as possible. I approach this the same way I approached brewing in the first place.  If I can make it myself, I will.  A lot of the things you'll need can be purchased at the local hardware store or WalMart.

Yep, midwest is good. I also get stuff from Keystone Homebrew Supply here in PA. I don't see anything wrong with ordering yeast online. I order mine online almost every time. I've never had a bad packet of yeast.

I ordered my 5 gal starter kit and then an airlock and plug from AIH, home brewing.org.

I'm done buying online.  After getting some shitty stuff from northern brewer, no. Fuck that.

I'll go down the the brewing supply store.

That way I can take the item back for an exchange if needed.

I generally use whoever offers free shipping.

Used to be Midwest Supplies - they are close by so fast ship times.
Lately I've been buying everything from Morebeer.  As long as I order no later than Tuesday I'll have it in time for a weekend brew day. $59+ ships free.  Usually not a problem if I buy ingredients for a couple of batches at a time.

I also use Rite Brew.  They let you buy ingredients by the oz.  If I'm buying ingredients just for a specific recipe I don't end up with a bunch of excess grain.  I know most other places make you buy in 1 or 1/2 lb increments.

Keep in mind that Northern and Midwest are now property of Annheiser Busch.

Big Beer Wants In On Homebrewing

I usually use Ritebrew or Farmhouse

I buy mine local (well relatively) they are a 30 mile drive away, but so is everything else around here. Its a little health food store called the Sunshine Market. I call it the Moonshine Market!

I've been buying locally for a few years...

But when I started...and every now and then...I use:

Williams Brewing

They've always been really fast at shipping and good stuff.

I've had plenty of trouble trying to get ingredients between my two local options, so I've started ordering bulk hops and some specialty grains from Farmhouse Brewing Supply.  I like that they sell hops in 4 ounce and pound increments.

Another for Austin Home Brew.  Also Homebrewsupply.com.  Morebeer.com

I usually buy my grains and yeast local however as my brew schedule is sporadic.

Here is a blue moon clone on sale: https://www.homebrewsupply.com/blue-moon-clone-extract-recipe-kit.html

This.

I get everything from adventuresinhomebrewing and morebeer.  I'm happy to see that arf members aren't willing to support AB.

As others have said, Midwest and Northern Brewer were bought out by InBev last year. I won't buy from either one of them, if I have to have it right away or some special I'll by it from Williams, Austin or Amazon; otherwise I'm happy to support my local shop.

Late to the party, but if you pay for a membership to the American Homebrew Association a lot of local shops give you 10% off. It definitely pays for itself if you brew even moderately.

https://www.homebrewersassociation.org

ETA: some online places also do AHA discounts.

What is the issue with inbev?

Morebeer / Morewine and Label Peelers are the 2 that I use exclusively now.

Northern Brewer and Midwest Supplies are both owned by ABInbev.

They use their size to create unfair business practices that harm smaller players in the market.

Just an example, they bought out all of the South African hop farms, cutting off everyone else from using products from that area.
