I did a extract barley wine. Added sugar to primary and my final ABV calculated to be about 14%. I was going for a similar beer to Dogfish Head Olde School.
It tastes pretty close.

Well My wife gave me a barrel and I finally after a 7 month secondary got the beer into the barrel.
I'll be tasting every couple days until it is my desired level of charred oak.
Not all of it fit in the barrel, so I bottled the rest. It will be neat to compare barrel aged vs non barrel.
