Just brew a red ale today. This was a off the shelf items from my local brew shop.
I hope it turns a red color but right now it looks kinda dark.
This is my second brew. I plan trying as many different kinds of brew limited to the size of my pot.
I do need a ss pot, I find that I can smell the aluim. pot.
Brew went smooth this time with no major malfunctions. Still a learning curve.
Hope to see red in my beer drinking glass.

It'll probably lighten up a little as it ferments.
Also, they always look darker in the fermentor just due to the amount of beer you are looking at.

Its Alive!!!!!!!!!! Perking good this morning.
I need to scrounge up some more beer bottles.
I got about 120 right now and would love to get another
120. That way I can have 2 batches going at the same time.
My local brew shop has a bottle drop off and you can pick them up for free.
Just got to clean them good and remove the labels.

Soaking in PBW works great for removing labels

Never hurts to have extra bottles, but you may find out you don't need as many as you think.

I find with my five gallon batches I end up filling 12 - 22oz and 20 - 12 oz bottles.

I've got an Irish red ale that will be kegged Saturday. It looks very dark in the fermenter but that isn't unusual.

Got a red that I just bottled! Played with the malt a little since my last batch so we shall see.
