So I acquired some brewing equipment locally for cheap, only thing is the primary fermented seems scratched and I don't trust it.

Thus, I was looking at getting a 6.5 gal carboy from the brew shop for about $40.

But last night I was messing around online, and came across this product.

http://www.northernbrewer.com/shop/big-mouth-bubbler-6-5-gallon.html

Having never used carboys for brewing before, I wondered if this thing would be worth the extra cost + the extra cost of shipping, or if carboys are easy enough to clean that I'd be better served just buying a bulk container of oxyclean.

Any opinions from your experienced guys would be appreciated!

I've never used one, but it looks easier to clean than a carboy.  Cleaning a carboy properly is a pain in the ass.

That's what I was wondering.

Everyone on their website gave it good reviews, but i didn't know how objective those reviews were.

The only thing they mentioned that I didn't like was one guy said that the glass is thinner than typical Carboy glass.
