Double check me on this please fellas,

If I have 2x4' of material, how many 7x7" squares can I get out of that material?

Thanks!!

2'x4' = 8ft^2

8ft^2 (12 inches / 1 ft)^2 = 8ft^2 (144 inches^2 / 1ft^2) = 1152 in^2 material.

7"x7" square is 49 in^2

1152 in^2 / 49 in^2 = 23.51

23 full 7" x 7" squares.

If they need to be continuous (aka you can't take pieces and join them together to make another block, then do it analytically).

Picture 2 feet high, 4 feet wide.

How many 7" by 7" blocks can you stack before you get to 2 ft? 3

How many can you lay down before you get to 4 ft? 6

6*3 = 18 continuous blocks out of 1 sheet. The other 5 from above will come from joining the scraps after cutting, if that's allowable
