If I was the payments person who received that check I would have simply dinged him for $1000.00 and laughed about it. The "What Now Bitches?" part would have immediately fallen back into his court when he had to try to get it cleared up. Problem his, and faceless corporation laughs while not giving a crap. Trying to be too cute will bite you in the ass sometimes.

If their is a question the equation is poorly formulated.
Ambiguity means it is wrong.
Period.

The answer is 1 not 9. You have to solve the () braces first and than the multiplication and at last you should go for the division.

No

You have to divide first and then go for multiplication etc.

I am confused!!!!

I've got to agree with brickeyee on this one.

Order-of-operations pedantry is not a good test of mathematical accumen.
