As a Mining Engineer, I can get down with this. Although I do think their timeline is a bit off, perhaps to the point of being laughable.

The timeline is pretty smart when you think about it.

Compare it to the moon race. We had a semi firm deadline and had to come up with the technology to make this deadline ricky tick.

Same principle applies here.

Heck if we had the funding and a deadline of 2025, we could have a colony on the moon and or mars by then.
Humanity has two options: colonize space or wither away into the ether.
