I used cucumbers from the garden. Don't bother "soaking" the cucumber slices in the hot brine for an hour just put them directly into a jar(s) then ladle the brine over them, let cool, then seal.

Dried (chopped) dehydrated onion is available at any grocery store. Got a bottle at Wally World for $.88.

Pickles are ready in 24 hours. Excellent.

Those are pretty much the same as my MIL made. My wife makes regular B&B pickles too.

i made the recipe tonight, only tweaks I did was add a Tbsp of dill, and then I also did a separate small mason jar of sliced shallots, just to see the outcome
