Boudin sausage used to be in grocery stores down my way but has disappeared....Publix and Walmart. I've checked the meat market too...Penn Dutch. It is not to be found. Closest stores that carry it are in North Florida. Any suggestions on some place I might find it locally that I haven't thought of?

You said Penn Dutch so I'm assuming south fla? Maybe Proper Sausages in Miami Beach. My Publix has it, but it's a small package where the bacon is.

Heck, I am in Tucson and know exactly where to find Boudin.  I can also make it myself, as I have the hardware and casings in my kitchen.

I have always heard about Florida ... the farther south you go, the farther north you are.

Pretty much. Snowbirds and all leave their mark when they visit or stay.

There is a prepackaged sausage company called Aidells that sell really good andouille sausage. Then there is one called Cajun Hollar Brand that sells the Boudin and Rajun Cajun.

I will say that Aidells brand sausages are way easier to find in store. Usually by the bacon.

If I were you though, I'd probably order it online to get the best quality stuff if you have a certain taste in mind. Not all sausages are created equal!

My local Kroger sells it in Gwinnett. Do you have a Kroger in your area?

Personally, I like Billy's over all of the boudin shops in Scott. The Best Stop has been around forever and well known but IMO they have poor quality control / inconsistent.

Another vote for Billy's.  While you're there, pick up a package of the pepperjack stuffed boudin balls as well.  They're damn good.

ETA: Billy's will ship too.

I pulled into Louisiana from NM and bought a bag of 8 Boudin balls, had one, awesome.  Put the others on my car floor for later.  Dog slipped them quietly, that dog had an iron gut.  I went to have one and there was some leftover paper bag tatter.

That dog ate a 1/2 chicken and a 1/4 lb of pepper jack cheese and the plastic wrapper off my car floor my dinner I didn't get.  He never got the shit so it was cool he was happy, except I was hungry.

If you want Boudin, you eat in LA.  Not MS, not FL or TX, AL forget.

Sorry for your lost.

I'll toss in a third vote for Billy's.  My brother always brings some back when he's over that way.

DAMN IT! I miss being around Lafayette. The meats and cracklins can't be beat.

Best Stop is great!!

Best boudin balls (and pistolettes) are at that little store at the corner of Fieldspan Rd. and Cameron St.
