I'm more of a traditional meat and potatoes kind of guy.  For some reason I want to try my luck on this stuff.
Any good suggestions for making traditional Oriental noodles and broth?
My start of experimenting: WalMart couriosity pickings with some likely stuff to use from the pantry.  I will pick up more options from other grocery stores.

If you can get frozen ramen rather than freeze dried, you'lll have a much better experience. Tonkotsu, shoyu, or my favorite miso. Shimadaya is one brand...

I usually crack an egg into the stuff while it's boiling.  Thickens it up a bit and gives the impression that you are actually eating something.

White flour noodles fried in fat then dried served up with a salt bomb packet.

love the ramen in the top left corner. I add egg & cheese...both make it creamier. Add the meat of your choice. Spam works for me.

Me too. WOW I finally found someone who likes it like this.  I also add a splash or too of tabasco while its boiling to give it that pizzazz.

I'll usually add an egg or cubed tofu.

Those udon noodles are good with cubed tofu, a bullion cube, chopped green onion, and siracha.

frozen peas are good too.

I make a soup using ramen noodles, frozen veggies, half the spice pack, a huge amount of thyme, and the Ethiopian spice berbere. It is fantastic.

Unfortunately, this is the case.  Good, but bad.

I really like the one on the top left. I got hooked on this in Korea in the late 80's and if I'm in the mood for ramen this is the only ramen I will eat. Toss in a chicken thigh and cook it until the thigh is done. Remove the bone and shred the meat. Add a slice of American cheese and stir till creamy.

For those of you who like to save money by bringing a lunch to work.  Takes some prep, but much better than cup noodles!

I made the Chicken and Dill. I didn't follow the recipe 100% but it came out pretty good. Everything was warm (hot) but I couldn't get my noodles to soften and break up. I kept the jar in my lunch box with some ice packs. Might have been better to take it out and come up to room temp but, with chicken I didn't wanna temp fate.

Glass jars were bought at hobby lobby for 4-5 bucks.

Onions sliced thin with chicken flavor cube and dill on top.

boil 2.5 cups per packet. Add cilantro, cayenne pepper, and green onions to your boiling water, and then cook noodles per directions. Once done remove from heat and crack and egg over the top. Slowly pull the noodles through the egg. It will thicken them and add flavor. Top with 1tbs butter and a slice of american cheese. Stir everything together and then add the seasoning pack.

Nong shim ramyun black.

Add 1/4lb scrambled hamburger to cooked ramen. Heat. Throw a handful of fine shredded sharp cheddar on it.  Squirt Siracha on the edge of the bowl or pot and serve.
