I have been through 3 remote probes so far adn each one after about 40-60 hours in the smoker goes tits up and starts giving BS readings. What are you using and how long has it lasted you?

I use the ET-732 Maverick wireless thermometer set. I have 30 hrs on so far so good.
Now I made a stand and give a little air gap from the transmitter and the smoker.
What were you using?

Just FYI that's the old model.  The new model is the 733, and comes with hybrid probes.  It also has an increased range--300ft.  If you want one for the same price as the 732 shipped, send me an email.

I have had my ET-372 for 2+ years and it has worked through rain, snow, sleet, and temps in the high teens (with lithium batteries) without issues. Heck I'm still using the original probes too.

quick question and maybe a stupid one, but have you tried cleaning them?

I've been using the Maverick for a couple years now. I like it a lot. I'm on my second meat probe (I killed the original one with water while cleaning it), but it was well worth the money.

Maverick +1.  About 30 hours on it, still runs fine.  Like someone else who posted, I keep the transmitter about 1" off of the smoker.
