In five more days, July 20, 2012, will mark the 43rd Anniversary of the Grand Lodge of Texas claiming Masonic territorial jurisdiction on the moon.

The Grand Lodge of Texas is the first Grand Lodge to have a Member step onto the Moon, Brother Buzz Aldrin, in 1969. Brother Aldrin carried with him SPECIAL DEPUTATION of then Grand Master J. Guy Smith, constituting and appointing Brother Aldrin as Special Deputy of the Grand Master, granting unto him full power in the premises to represent the Grand Master as such and authorize him to claim Masonic Territorial Jurisdiction for The Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Texas, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, on The Moon, and directed that he make due return of his acts. Brother Aldrin certified that the SPECIAL DEPUTATION was carried by him to the Moon on July 20, 1969.

Membership in Tranquility Lodge No.2000 is open to all Master Masons in Texas under the jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of Texas, A.F. & A.M., or members in Good Standing of those Grand Lodges that are in Fraternal Communication with the Grand Lodge of Texas. Membership fee $100, Endowment $500.

An Endowment Membership gives the member paid up dues for the rest of his life, in other words, a life-time membership. The amount is $500 for this life-time membership. The regular membership is $100 as a joining fee, and then the annual dues are $15.00 per year.

thats cool as hell.
The purpose of fighting is to win. There is no possible victory in
defense. The sword is more important than the shield, and skill is more
important than either. The final weapon is the brain. All else is
supplemental.

That is really cool.

Many Brothers in our district belong to Tranquility. It is definitely cool, but I'd rather put the money towards my own lodge.
