Brethren,

I have not posted here for a long time, I am nobody important and I have no important claims to fame. However, as I see it, Freemasonry is viewed by many as an 'unacceptable' and 'secret' society. ARFCOM is a public outlet. I am not going to vote on this issue and do not wish to create any more 'adversities' for our craft. I have ALWAYS found the secrets of Freemasonry to be guarded in the Lodge Hall and between Brothers. I try not to put anything into print that I do not want read, ever. Remember it is within no one's power to change the body of Freemasonry, but we are ALL representatives of our craft. For this reason speak of the tenets of our craft: Faith, Hope, Charity, Brotherly Love, Relief, Truth, etc. and what we use to improve ourselves to be of service to the world; therefore, let us not set something up for the derision of those who would oppose true goodness. Let us also not set ARFCOM up as an unacceptable supporter of Freemasonry by giving us something 'secret'. I have made parts of my life public and these parts on ARFCOM are in the Veteran's Forum and this one. I try to be always open and available for those who wish to interact with me, especially a Brother Mason.

I hope you consider me,
Brother Keith

Brother Keith:

If you'll read the other posts here, you will see that we do not intend to reveal any of the secrets (although most aren't even that secret any more). The purpose of this forum is, IMHO, to make our fraternity stronger by communicating with fellow brethren on issues that may concern us, announcements about what may be happening in other lodges, that sort of thing. Sure, there are some outsiders who think, even believe - however wrongly - that we are a secret "society", when you as a Mason should know that is the furthest from the truth. How could we possibly contribute to that gross misunderstanding by participating in this forum???

Papabri,

I did read the posts, merely assembling thoughts about this and others I have seen. Hope I'm not unworthy.

Papabri,

I apologize for the last short reply, my dogs needed attention. I am not speaking to Masons about "secrets". I am speaking to Masons who forget who is watching and that what we say, or print is received differently by those who are not part of our Craft. It is not your, mine, or any other good Brother's attitude toward the Craft that I am concerned with. I am concerned about 'dirty laundry' that is aired here, or anywhere and how it represents us. I have seen some, to me, truIy sad situations here and it pains me to think that our Brothers do not have another Brother, or Brothers that they can talk to on subjects Masonic and so reveal their issues here. I still believe in mouth to ear. This is a gun site and we just happen to be Masons who like guns. Personally, I think all people should have them and that more of them in our Craft is better. Does that mean that we should not talk about Masonry? Of course not. I also do not believe in 'sugar-coating' things either. I also remember a negative post about the Masons getting their own forum... and now to be secret. So to the uninstructed, All MUST be true. Merely my observations and personal feelings, take me as I take you. I threw out my name with my advice to my Brothers and my offer as we all would do as good Brothers.

In and for Masonry,
Brother Keith

Another time-out. Do I get my own corner!!! LOL

We have never revealed anything on here, just a nice place to meet other masons from all over the place. I love the Masonic forum

+1. There's no secret section or forum, as you can see most voted for open forum, with the S&C, and no closed forum. We have a moderator over these forums that's been trusted to upkeep the section and make sure nothing is posted out of line. I'm sure if someone did come in here and started posting things that aren't kosher, they would be dealt with accordingly.

Also, doing a little searching on the internet, nothing in Masonry is secret anymore, at all.

I agree that lots of things that shouldn't be on the Internet are. Our obligations are to keep the craft secret by not revealing anything ourselves. Those fellows that posted the secret info online will be dealt with when his time comes.

i have heard nothing more about this from goatboy. i do have a TON of dues cards in my email box waiting for this to happen

this forum is NOT for discussing masonry or it's "secrets". it is nothing more than a place for masons that enjoy the site to discuss things without the usual GD bs. nothing more.no different than a group of masons going out for dinner and discussing things in public.

we have had a VERY few things posted that were on the edge and they were removed. the general membership is welcome here as well and many have posted here, several of them went on to petition a local lodge due to the conduct of the men they found here.

So I shouldn't have mentioned the gun part of the FC initiation?
