I really wish I could afford something from Zombie Tools, but they are pricey.

So, I just went and got a 14" Old Hickory. Poor mans zombie chopper.

chf 14.7" barrel, geiselle trigger, everything else is pretty obvious. Beretta 92fs. 3 pistol mags and 1 rifle mag on the belt.

My split front mav(not shown) has 2 more.pistol mags and 4 more rifle mags that I could double to 8. Also has more first aid, binos, water, canteen cup, water tabs, light, oil, and some other possibles.

If I can't get them all plus my ammo cans in the jeep fast enough, it would be a tough choice.  I would probably lean towards my P226 TacOps with TB and Osprey can over the P227 Tactical TB because zombies are "soft" targets so the 20 round mags of 9mm should do just fine.  At the moment I would go to my LWRC upper/Seekins lower SBR build because I am confident in it, but my new Sig MCX is growing on me fast.  The M1A and REPR are too heavy, and my SBR tax stamp hasn't came in yet on my MPX so they are all out of consideration.  All these decisions may get me killed!

May I ask what length your FAL barrel? Does it still cycle properly?

I have one and I really want to have it cut down to 16 inches.

The FAL is actually a DS Arms SA58 carbine so it's engineered to function with a shorter barrel.  I did have a  L1A1 part gun years ago that I had a gunsmith buddy of mine put together for me.  He shorten the barrel and enlarged the gas port so it would cycle property.  Never had a problem with it but unfortunately had to sell it when I was between jobs, when I got back on my feet I got the DSA.

This thread needs some life.  This would be my total SHTF set up.  the PC has level III plates in it so it is not light  wouldnt want to have to travel on foot very far will all this and probably a back pack. Im going to get a chest rig that would allow me more movement. But defending a neighborhood post this is it.
the Aero Precision Recce on the left is my go to rifle for SHTF but the PSA on the right is my go to for HD. In the event of a serious SHTF long term scenario Im taking the recce and the wife or step son would have the psa

So much wasted fire power.  All you need is a .22 lr.  This one is good to about as a far as I can see with a good rest and no wind.
