THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT As I am driving down the road my 3 year old daughter says in a very serious tone, "Daddy, dis my Zombie Truck". With that statement I had a very proud daddy moment. How could I argue with my 3 year old who understands the logic of upgrading to the powerhouse of a truck we were driving as a prepratory measure to the possibility of a zombie attack. I took my daughters advice on the need for a zombie truck and purchased it. For the rest of the night my daughter kept talking about "her" zombie truck. I couldn't stop smiling. This may force me to get a personalized plate of some sort referencing the zombie truck. Now for all you truck guys this is a stock 2006 2500 HD with the 5.9l Cummins. Truck is a quad cab short bed. No mods or upgrades to it yet. Gotta pay off the wife's car before sinking money into this project. Just thought y'all might enjoy this story as much as I enjoyed experiencing it yesterday. |

Have you bought it yet? If not you really should lo k at a and test frive a crew crab instead of the quad cab. The amount of extra room for your kids in nthe back will be phenomenal.
I have two kids, and there is plenty of room in my 2011 Crew, the Quad was cramped at best. I am so glad I made the leap to the crew cab. Check it out if you still can. Cool story on the Zombie truck thing. My kids play that "earn or die" zombie truck flash game and love it, my 5 year old son rocks at splashing zombies lol |

Yeah we bought the truck last night and we love it....The larger cab would have been nice, but got a heck of a deal on this truck. I'll have to check out that game your kids like. Thanks for the input

4WD? Necessity for running over large hordes. That heavy engine will weigh the front wheels down, and if you get them wedged, too little weight in the back will not let you push through/back up. Knew a guy that had a 2WD and got it stuck in a washout because he got the front wheels in the washout ( about 8-10" deep), and didn't have enough speed up to bounce out. It was a little slick, and he didn't have the traction to get himself out.

I am a very proud daddy. Especially when we go to the gun stores and I don't even have to instruct my daughter to "index" when holding .22lr pistols.... she has watched me handle firearms so many times that she's learned through observation (I began laying the foundation to firearms safety at about 1 1/2 ago).
In regards to the 4WD, yes that what I got. I plan on doing some mods to the truck eventually but need more $$$$$$. I've heard diesels like it when they have somewhat of a load compared to running empty so I will probably weigh the rear end down some even when I am not "needing too". I'm new to diesels so I could be way off base on that so I appologize if I am wrong and ignorant to diesels. My plan for the truck is a front leveling kit and 295 MT tires on 17's (I like sidewalls to air down with), nerf bars, front and rear HD bumpers, 12k winch up front, cab guard, lights on front bumper and cab guard, aux. fuel tank (undecided on this), truck box, airbags in the rear, on board air, intake, exhaust, computer module, ham and cb radios, front and rear lockers, fender flares.... thats all i can think of at the moment... it will take me a long while to get all the money necessary to get this all done..... i have a 7 year plan. |

With a leveling kit on that dodge you can easily go with a 35x12.5 tire. It will look better and you will have more ground clearance. I suggest toyo open country mt's. They are a little pricy but they are really tough and last forever. I'm the master of popping tires on the ranch that I work on and have yet to bust a toyo. My brother has around 30k on his with a 2500 HD Chevrolet and they are over half tread.
