Ummmm.. because it wouldn't fit their anti-gun narratives?

(I do realize that it was a rhetorical question )

I have hot linked to the Armed Citizen Blog http://www.americanrifleman.org/BlogList.aspx?cid=25&id=21 plenty of times, when responding online to news stories and letters to the editor, typically in the Seattle Times and Post-Intelligencer newspapers. This is often done for anti-gunners who claim that they never see any positive use of firearms in the news, so it must must never happen. When they are shown the blog, they will cede to those few uses they are shown, but they also notice that ~1/2 of the instances cited that they can see are also quite old.

It might be time for a format change that keeps the blog in a chronological order.

I also want to point out that none of the stories you and Chris just highlighted appeared in that blog. It would be incredibly helpful if that blog could be updated daily with these and the many other similar stories, and more than just instances as they appear in the print media news. TV and radio stations have often have news stories on their webpages that should be linked there.

ETA: How about also doing a link to a .pdf file of each month's Armed Citizen page(s), as they appeared in the magazines, too?

Do you know of any NRA board members who could see to this?

Why doesn't the Major Media report these situations as they do those committed by criminals??!

Call, write, email and visit your federal, state and local elected officials and respectfully tell them about these stories on how our freedoms allow us to be SAFE!

Hey You just made it into today's Seattle Times' Letter to the Editor (online edition):

What the Founding Fathers did and didn’t do

When our forefathers wrote the Bill of Rights, they were trying to make life better for all of us here. They included the right to bear arms because they thought it was necessary for the defense of their young country.

At the time, there was no formal military. When the Second Amendment was written, guns were muskets. The Second Amendment was enacted by men who had no idea that guns would eventually be capable of murdering dozens of people within a minute.

If Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, George Washington and our other Founding Fathers could see the way that guns are used now, do you think they'd still believe that gun ownership for all is a good idea? Think about the gun deaths you've read about in the news recently, including the two children who were killed here in Washington state and the numerous mass murders. Do you imagine that any of the above would be anything other than shocked and horrified?

The National Rifle Association propaganda says that gun ownership for all makes the U.S. a safer place. How many people were saved by NRA members in the Virginia Tech Massacre? Zero. How many were saved by NRA members during the recent shooting spree in Colorado? Zero. How many victims were saved from any other gun-related tragedy in recent memory by NRA members? I can't think of a single instance in which an NRA member stepped forward to rescue anybody in such a situation.

If the NRA is claiming that its members are defending our citizens, why don't we ever see them do it?

@Jody:

RE:"...How many people were saved by NRA members in the Virginia Tech Massacre? Zero. How many were saved by NRA members during the recent shooting spree in Colorado? Zero.."

..because no one was legally able to carry in either of those places. They were "Gun Free Zones". VT by state law, and Aurora by the private property owner's decision.

Meanwhile, this should answer your core question:

The straighforward answer is "Because you news people are only following your left wing agenda & only reporting the misuse of guns. It doesn't fit your left wing agenda to report the instances when they were used lawfully."

Fair & balanced journalism, indeed.
