"the galils were pieces of shit and heavy... the M16s were new, lighter, and shot better". Perhaps not a direct quote, but pretty close. I asked him if he got to wear the cool rasta-cap headbag too and he just gave me the finger. I'm not Israeli, nor am I an IDF-phile... I just know a lot of Israelis and was over there for a while working a few years back.... |

lol it's pretty close. The galil is a POS, the m16/a4 is nice, and the tavor is nice once you get used to it.

The full sized rifles are no longer made for IDF issuance; the left-over guns are given to reserve troops or relegated to road-block duty. There are some specialized versions still used by special units (marine commandos maybe?). The Jericho is a 75. IE it is a clone of the CZ-75. The first guns were made of fram and slide castings by Tanfoglio, Italy (ie the makers of the Witness - another 75). Jericho is simply the local varient (the Israelis also make 1911 clones). |

I don't really get it, but he said there was a lot of complaints about the sight/charging handle getting easily tangled up in your gear as well. |

been shooting a Galil for 20+yrs. & it is heavy but it will work 15,000rds. & counting...buuuut most of the time I grab one of my M4's when I head to the range !! ...take care ...Kent
