I am currently reading Tom Clancys newest book "Against all Enemies" in which terrorists use Mexican drug cartels to gain entry into the U.S. via drug smuggling tunnels on the southwest border. With the tenth anniversary of 9/11 approaching and the government warning of credible threats, could this incident have been an attempt of this sort? Keep in mind that Clancy wrote about flying airliners into buildings 7 years before 9/11 happened in his book "Debt of Honor". Or am I nuts?

Tom Clancy does not see the future. Commercial airliners have been hijacked many times and it's pretty obvious what kind of bad things can happen if one hits a building. The cross-border drug tunnels exist and therefore, it was a simple and plausible way for a writer to get terrorists to secretly enter the country.

I never said he could see the future, I hope he's not giving them ideas.

Like every other book or movie out there where the "Bad guys" do something outlandish. Bombs on buses, trains, cars; Hostages on cruise ships, trains, buses; Releasing a chemical or biological weapon in a crowded area; etc?

He writes about nearly the same thing in "Teeth Of The Tiger" as well.
