After several tries with our cardigan corgi, Swan, she finally had puppies 6 weeks ago. She has been with our breeder partner for 7 weeks until yesterday. We brought her home to Nebraska while the pups will stay until 12-15 weeks before being placed (if we don't keep one).  She's an AKC Champion and from a very valuable line. Hopefully all will go onto show careers.

She lost one during birth (mal-formed) and all were delivered via c section. Three pups only. Surgical semen implant didn't settle as much as we would have liked

Yesterday, random pics. The little male has a small kink in his tail. Shouldn't be genetic but may impede a show career. He's still very wanted as black cardigan corgis are becoming somewhat rare and needed to limit inbreeding and cross with blue merles to get more blue merles.

Congratulations! I love hearing about reputable breeders bringing new pups into the world. We need more reputable breeders out there doing the right thing and making happy, healthy, socialized pups available to those who want them. I wish you a lot of success with the little guys! Maybe we'll meet in the ring someday.

ZOMG, that face!!!!!

If we get a herding dog, it will likely be a Pyr Shep (or maybe a Beauceron) and would be shown and used on stock. Other than that, we'd be meeting in the BIS ring only. We're waiting to bring home a Borzoi pup right now. He's 3.5 weeks old, so not until the beginning of August, but I can hardly wait!

Why is it they are never that cute when they grow up?

We've been corgi people for a long time. Started with pems as working dogs for cattle. Got a cardigan and were hooked.  The cardigan personality fits our family so much better.

These are more show than herding dogs, so our current two (retired AKC champions) aren't into herding much. We tried em on ducks and they pretty much ignored them. If we keep a pup we'll give it a shot but don't expect much. We don't keep cows anymore anyway, so a true herding bloodline might be a waste for us. One branding and one or two pasture moves a year for friends is about all we get to anymore.

Wife wants a "big dog", so we'll likely get a herding breed there too. Not sure on theee corgis and a "big dog", all in the house, yet.
