If it's a dog howling or making noise forget about hearing the TV for a while... Anyone else have a great dane that does this.

We have 2 weims and a lab/pointer.  They like to howl when they think they're alone.   My mother lived wth us the last couple years of her life, she had a stroke and was pretty immobile and confined to a wheel chair.  If i had to go out for a while the dogs would sit upstairs and howl.  Poor mom couldn't hear her tv over the racket.  I'd get home and moms tv would be on full blast and she'd be sitting right next to the tv in her wheelchair.

It's pretty rare that they pay attention to dog noise on the TV.  My weim will occasional perk up his ears and listen, but thats about the sum of their reaction to TV.

my first dane used to howl, you could get him going if you howled along, it was hysterical
