This may be an old tale to some of you but I hadn't heard it before.
Note that the dog in this story was himself rescued from death.  (and because for some reason I always seem to have trouble getting my video imbeds to work.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zi1fgOB4u6o )

It does look like an older story. I do not remember hearing about it either though. We have a dog that went blind very quickly at the age of 10. He is completely blind but gets around very well, he is 13 now.
