So, this has come up before where I have compared the Malinos to the Ferrari and pointed out that most people would be better off with a 'mini-van' breed.

I thought it would be fun to describe different dog breeds with car analogies.

Malinois - Ferrari

Lab or Golden Retriever - mini van

Newfoundlander - full sized van

Rottweiler - SUV

Jack Russel - dirt bike

Yorkie - Vespa

Let's grow the list!

I'm not sure why you think a JRT would be a dirt bike. Maybe a fighter jet or a top fuel dragster.

They are either sitting still or going moch three

Fail.

Yorkie and F250

Yorkie just tore his ACL and the truck had a fuel temp sensor fail within 17000 miles.

You realize poodles are gun dogs too, originally, right?

You realize that like poodles, the vast majority of goldens for many generations have been bred for and sold not as hunting dogs but as companion dogs, right?

You realize that only a tiny percentage of the goldens in this country are still used to actively hunt, right?

You realize that while there are hunting lines of goldens, the number of serious hunters (i.e. more than just a couple weekends per season) who choose golden over other retrieving breeds is again a very small fraction, right?

You also realize this isn't a 'what does my dog ride in' thread, right?  After all, it started out saying the Malinois is the Ferrari of the dog world, and yet few Ferrari owners actually drive around with a Mal in the back.
