I want to say thanks to everyone on here who responded to a thread I put on here about GSDs a while back. Between what was posted on there and the folks that PMed me I was able to locate a few breeders in my area that had dogs that met the criteria of what we were looking for. We talked to several of them before making a decision. We went by and looked at a some dogs this morning. The parents were everything we are wanting in a dog. After seeing the parents we looked at the puppies and decided one of them was going to be ours. The puppies are only 3 weeks old right now. We were able to play with the 4 females for a while and get an idea of their personalities (as much as you can see in a 3 week pup anyway). We found one with the personality we were looking for and put down a deposit on her. In just over a month from now we will be bringing her home. Sorry, no pics as of now. I forgot to take any while we were there. The breeder will be sending me some pics next week and I will put some up.

It definitely will. What is even worse is when it is ready to come home I will be at work. That not only means I lose a week with her, it also means that she will be with my wife an extra week. I won't stand a chance with this one.

Congrats on the new pup!  I've had my GSD pup for about 4 months and she's already 50lbs.  They get big so fast, enjoy the pup!

Thanks. The breeder is sending us some pics Monday, and will continue to do that until we pick her up. I will post some when he sends them to me.

Nice pup!  They get big quick.

Max is not even 7 months old yet and he's as big as our adult GSDs.

They do get big quick don't they. This one's parents were in the 70-80lb range. They kept one dog out of the last litter and he was there when I went to look at the pups. At 1yr old it isn't much smaller than the parents.

My wife and son went and picked Aubrey up today. She is going to spoiled in no time. I am excited to get home and see her. I plan to start basic obedience after we get her acclimated to her new home. Once I am seeing progress in her obedience training I will start training her to track.

I figured I would put an updated picture up. Aubrey is almost 4 months old now. She weighed in at just over 40lb yesterday. She has been through basic obedience training and is doing great. She is a very fast learner. She has pretty much adopted my son as her own. She is fitting in really well with the family.

She's still beautiful and growing fast. What's her estimated full grown weight?

Both parents, and one of their full grown offspring that the breeder had weighed in at 75-80lb.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. We got her a new companion today. A GSP from a fellow Arfcommer in this thread.

That's a handsome pair of dogs!
I'm glad to hear the GSP made it to her new home.
