8/17 update - Tonight noticed the rash is back, its not as bad as they aren't really open wounds(From him licking/cleaning), but there are definitely red bumps/dots like in the pictures. Anybody have a suggestion? It  was gone and he was good for about a month almost exactly. The vet did tell me if it came back to let them know and we can get more antibiotics. Really curious what could be causing this, I haven't had him in either of the fields I used to. Only thing I can think of is I switched him to a grain free version of his food about a month before the rash started showing up(but weather also got insanely hot/summer...)

Just found this on my dogs stomach area. Any clue what this could be? Gonna try to get him into vet tomorrow.

He hasn't had any issues, and only thing he has done recently is he went to the groomers wednesday last week and then friday or saturday he was playing in this field that has grass/bushes/sticker bushes about a foot taller than he is.

Nice nails ;) in all seriousness it looks like a superficial skin infection which may have initially been triggered by grooming and  then exacerbated by self grooming. Should resolve with a two week course of antibiotics.

see what your vet says, it could be a spider bite. if the dog goes on antibiotics be careful of what they uses some dogs get severe adverse reactions to some of the new ones.

when the treatment is done makes sure to get him on a good caine probiotic

It could be a foxtail which can get nasty.  I would pour hydrogen peroxide on it to clean it, apply antibiotic ointment and take another look at it tomorrow.

When I was a kid, we used to dig foxtails and corkscrew weed heads out of our GSD weekly.

yes they can be pretty nasty.  You usually see them in between the toes but on a long haired dog they can creep up anywhere.

Just an update, took dog down to the vet this AM.

Said he has a skin infection, not very serious.

Gave me some Cephalexin which is an antibiotic, and then some Prednisone which is a steroid.

They said, he probably got it from having some raw skin after being groomed and playing in the field. They did said it could have been from quite a few different things, but that was probably most likely.

So hopefully he gets better soon!
