You are saying the undercoat says equally thick winter through hot summer?  That doesn't sound right.

Looking at the bottom two pictures it looks like the dog is having clumps of undercoat come out.

what is your defintion of hair vs fur?
Dogs hair is similar to ours - only falls out in individual strands - doesn't shed during hot/cold seasons. My wife, allergic to pet dander, doesn't have any allergic reaction.  Unlike GSD that I grew up with, these dogs barely lose any hair at all.  They certainly don't shed like the GSD going into the summer.  Their "coats" don't get thicker as it gets colder.  They do have an undercoat that keeps them warm.
This is them in the recent past before grooming;

This is the dogs - female Zeva, male Zeke before we rescued them...(Zeke required a muzzle before they could cut some of the matted hair out- had dread-locks)
Zeva:

Except for pulís and that other Hungarian breed. Yes you're technically correct, but all hair falls out eventually for humans too and we still call it hair.

I'm getting a Bouvier this year and they're the same way. Double coat with fur on the inside that is shed mildly and mats up so you have to groom them. They will blow out their fur twice a year like most other dogs, but it's still comparitavely much much milder than a GSD or the Labradors I had growing up.

Wow! What a gorgeous pup, how'd you decide to get a Beauceron, as rare as they are here in the US.

Thanks. There is a breeder that is local to me, she puts out a lot of show-quality pups. My girlfriend shows Legacy, she has more titles than an 18 year old Asian genius with 12 doctorate degrees.
