We love this guy. I can't believe how smart/stupid he is. A year old and he still chases bugs, shadows, and anything else he wants. So friendly to everybody we know. But he can somehow decipher when my wife is anxious and immediately turns into a vicious, bloodthirsty savage.

1 year old, 100 pounds.

Dogs hair is similar to ours - only falls out in individual strands - doesn't shed during hot/cold seasons. My wife, allergic to pet dander, doesn't have any allergic reaction.  Unlike GSD that I grew up with, these dogs barely lose any hair at all.  They certainly don't shed like the GSD going into the summer.  Their "coats" don't get thicker as it gets colder.  They do have an undercoat that keeps them warm.
This is them in the recent past before grooming;

This is the dogs - female Zeva, male Zeke before we rescued them...(Zeke required a muzzle before they could cut some of the matted hair out- had dread-locks)

Hummm.....

All hair falls out individually for all dogs when you get down to it.

You are saying the undercoat says equally thick winter through hot summer?  That doesn't sound right.

Looking at the bottom two pictures it looks like the dog is having clumps of undercoat come out.

Yes the undercoat stays equally thick all year long.  What you are seeing are matts that developed due to lack of care (we therefore have our dogs shaved in the early spring and mid summer to keep them cooler).

The two photos with long hair show them just prior to getting surrendered to the rescue folks that we acquired them from.  We don't let their hair get that long because neither the wife unit nor I want to invest hours each day combing them out.  They aren't show dogs.  So we keep their hair fairly short.

My guy hits 19 weeks on Monday and one ear still hasn't came up and the other is still soft. The vet is going to glue moleskin forms in his ears at 20 weeks.

I have heard that the German show lines can take a while to come up but at this point I'm stating to get a little concerned.

Yes he still has all of his puppy k9's however one ear stays up and the other has always been flat.

Mine was the same way for awhile.  The first photo was taken when he was roughly the same age as your pup.  The second was taken about a month ago.  I was wondering if they'd ever stand up then suddenly over the course of a couple of days they both stood up.

Yep looks like that however one side has been up for several weeks and the other side has been up 2-3 times for less than 30 seconds in his life. Did yours do the same?

Mine went back and forth.  For a long time the left ear was up while the right flopped down, then they both went up for a couple of days, then the left flopped down for a few weeks.  It would stand up for short periods of time then flop over again.  Like you I was getting concerned, but eventually they both stood up once he finished teething.  This link about ears is from the breeder we got our dog from: http://www.worldclassgsd.com/puppy_zone/Why_my_puppies_ears_are_not_up.htm  There is also some info about what it means if the ears don't stand up.  Of course take the advice of your vet, and if he thinks you should tape the ears it definitely wouldn't hurt.

Some of those dogs have the same bloodlines as the dogs from the kennel I got mine from.

Over the last day the floppy ear seems to be trying to lift up from the bottom in the back so maybe the will make it up before next week and not get glued.

This is my pup at 22 weeks. He's lost most of his baby teeth. That right ear is still not as rigid as his left but seems to be upright more and more as the days go by. I have a glue in form but I'm going to leave it be I think. He's got really big ears so I think once the adult teeth all come in he'll have a normal right ear. Sometimes it's as upright as the left and sometimes it still lays down. I decided not to sweat it, I think the bigger the ears the longer it takes to get them solid. He gets neutered next month and I'll talk to the vet. His muscles that control the ears seem to be working right, the cartilage in that ear is not as solid as the left. I think it will come around. Since he's a rescue there is no way to know what his lines are.

I wonder if I can get FM on these

He seems to be growing before my eyes. This is him chilling next to my 8 year old 110 pound Ridgeback.

LOL! My little trouble maker has eaten 4 beds in his crate. He never sleeps unattended on the big bed next to his buddy. All I put in his crate now is a beach towel. I let him hand on the big bed that's only there because my Ridgie usually uses both beds. But he'll let the little guy share. At bedtime he goes back to the crate with the beach towel, no fun foam to tear up

He's at 49.6 lbs yesterday and will be 23 weeks Friday. If it's true at 6 months they are half the adult weight I may have a 100 lb GSD.

Mine has the same exact markings and color as his and is the same weight and age as yours. We feed ours a ton so no doubt he'll reach his genetic potential but double his 6 month weight will put him 20 pounds over his parents, and ours is a pretty lean little guy.
Eta: 4 shoes and only 1 bed, but only because we keep fixing it.

I'm cool if he's not that heavy as an adult. Even though the vet and a pretty knowledgeable breeder told me he'd be a 100 lb dog I was skeptical myself. I guess I'll find out in another 26 weeks or so I feed my pup 1.5 cups twice a day of Orejin Large Breed Puppy food.

He shits like  hundred pound dog already though! My cleanup chores have definatly doubled.

At bedtime he goes back to the crate with the beach towel, no fun foam to tear up

He's at 49.6 lbs yesterday and will be 23 weeks Friday. If it's true at 6 months they are half the adult weight I may have a 100 lb GSD.

He shits like  hundred pound dog already though! My cleanup chores have definatly doubled.

You better trade your pooper scooper for a front end loader!!

Have you seen those little doggy poop bags for walking your pup in parks or wherever?

I use two.

Added a new member of the family to join the pet club...New adventure begins!

Will probably have lots of questions, but for now just trying to get her settled.

She's definitely settled down now.  Crate training has been very easy - 3 days in  and she's completely quiet through the night and doesn't put up a fuss when going in, or when she see us come back from work.  Think we got lucky with the temperament of this one.  Still have a little of work to do with the house training,  but it's coming along.

Cute, where'd you get her from?

Thanks!  Got her from a small working line breeder in VA.  Have had bird dog breeds up until this point and was just ready for a change.

Brought this dark sable home today:

His mom and dad are both Czech imports with a lot of IPO3, SchH3 and Sieger winners.  Also blood lines from Pohranicni Straze (Czech Border Patrol Kennels).  The trainer for our club did some testing and he looks like he will be a solid performer.

Here is dad:
