My 15 year old Boston Terrier was diagnosed this week with arthritis in all four limbs and the start of Canine Cognitive Dysfunction. She has lost 3 pounds since the start of the year, down to 11 on her small frame. We had her screened and X-rayed, and other than the arthritis she is totally healthy from the neck on down, but between the deafness and mental slide shenhas totally changed. My once alert, sweet, and laser fast little dog is now a sullen, bumbling mess.

Please give me the strength to do the right thing before the good memories fade.

Molly passed this morning, in my arms at the vet's office. 5/26/97-8/15/12. RIP.

Pics and something more coherent later.

I loved my BT till the day I said goodbye over a year ago. Seizures got so bad in 1 day it had to be done. I think of her often, as you will with your pup. We as owners must do right by our canine friends. If you think it is time, it is. Best of luck stranger, sounds like you were blessed with 15 wonderful years. My new girl georgia lays by my feet as I type this. Me and her will keep you in our thoughts.

So sorry to hear, friend. I fear the day I will have to make a similar post.

Remember all the good times together and remember above all else, it would be selfish of you to make her life drag on in pain or without the ability to live a full life as she has up to this point. She'd do the same for you if she could. Give her lots of love and attention, a good meal and let her go to rest.

Damn it's dusty in here.

I'm sorry to hear it Bonk. I've been there and know how badly it sucks.

I have a 8 month old BT. I'm not looking forward to that time. I already think about it and make sure I take in all the good times I'm having with the little guy.

Sorry for your loss. At least euthanasia is a very peaceful way to go. Not much consolation, but you did the right thing.
