Ive recently become worried that one of my cats (male orange tabby about 8 years old) is in the early stages of diabeties. He seems to be obsessed with the sound of running water and every time i go into the bathroom to go number 1 he hears it and comes racing in behind me only to try and stick his head in the toilet and get peed on or he jumps into the tub (we used to leave the tub dribbling for our cats at our old place) and gives me the "well lets go here" look He is still eating normally and hasnt lost any weight however he is on antibiotics for a bladder infection. A little history behind my worries, Growing up I had a golden retriever who was diagnosed diabetic when she was 6 and soon after started becoming obsessed with water drinking as much as she could whenever she could until 2 years later when she went into a coma and never came out

Thanks

S

PS this is the one i posted about a while ago for peeing on the couch (which was from the bladder infection)

My 10 yr old tabby got the diabetes. He lost a bunch of weight, got bad dander, was pissing unbelievable amounts, and moaning in misery. Got pretty dusty in the vet clinic when we put him down. Its a hard decision, but it was time to let mine go on to a better place. Best of luck to you op, stay strong.
