THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT Anyone else feeding their dog this food? I switched to it a couple of weeks ago after learning what really goes into the cheaper food. I was wondering what others thought of it, is it any good?
Thank you, Jay |

I feed my GSD Blue Buffalo also, he has a severe corn allergy which makes his entire tongue welt up. Not alot of dog foods that dont have corn as a main ingredient, go figure they would make animal foods out of things the animal was never suppose to eat. My dog likes it....from what I can tell.....

It took mine a long time to get used to the little black "life bits" in the mix.

I chose this particular food because it is grain free, and some reviews I read said that their dogs coat appeared healthier and that they had more energy. As mention by SigChef, dogs were never meant to have grain as a source of nourishment.
The companies that make the cheaper foods do not care the least bit about the damage they cause with their toxic "food", all they care about is the bottom line. Be careful what you feed your dog. Thank you all for your responses. |

Our English bulldog loves it. She has had 6-8 different types of food and this is the only one that she eats every time. She has a lot less allergy problems since we switched to BB.

Lamb and rice. Thanks for the tip! ETA: OOPS, on 2nd thought I'll pass. Apparently Diamond has a history of recalls and a current recall. Sorry, nothing personal.

+1 on Diamond Naturals Lamb.
I feed my Doberman 3 cups of Diamond Naturals Lamb, mixed with 1/3 can of Taste of the Wild wet food, a fish oil pill, and 1 raw egg twice a day. For the quality/price ratio, Diamond Naturals is the best! |

Thanks for the heads up. We have been feeding our dogs Diamond Naturals for three years with no problems. ETA: Blue Buffalo RECALLS http://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/newpetfoodrecalls/brand_list.cfm?Trade_Name=BLUE%20BUFFALO&pet=Dog |

ETA: Blue Buffalo RECALLS http://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/newpetfoodrecalls/brand_list.cfm?Trade_Name=BLUE%20BUFFALO&pet=Dog None of the Diamond at our local store today was involved. After a long talk with one of the managers at the pet store today I decided to try Canidae. It appears to be a step up from the Eukanuba I've been feeding, has no corn, and costs about the same. I would feed Blue Buffalo if I only had one dog but I'm feeding 3 with a combined weight of 240 lbs. It would double my monthly dog food bill to go to Blue Buffalo. |

Right now the Puppy is getting Blue Buffalo wilderness Puppy food, I like it puppy loves it, and I only feed my dogs grain free food.
That being said the adult dog we have is on Taste of the Wild, and it's been doing great stuff for her, she has a lot more energy and she is losing weight which in this case is a good thing as she was over weight. |

We recently switched from the Core grain free to the Buffalo grain free and the dogs seem to like it, but I would advise against getting the salmon offering. Makes the dogs really gassy.
LOL, my dogs are gluten free. We have yeast in the ear issues and the grain free seems to help. But be prepared to pay a lot more. |

My two fat mutts loved it.
But alas, way too much money spent on dog food. The 20lb bag just doesn't cut it for 120lbs of dog. There's a local lady who makes her own treats and dog food. No meal, no grain. She uses all natural ingredients and I don't have to pay through the nose. But yeah, I'm a fan of BB dog food. Head and shoulders above the chain store brands (Iams, Purina, etc.) ETA: poster above mentioned dog farts. When I started our two on the Blue Buffalo, both were farting all over the place...the smell almost tangible. About halfway through the first bag that all ceased. Takes their guts a little while to get used to the all natural stuff I guess. |

I have been using Canidae ALS for a while now and have generally been happy with it. It has no corn, and they make an entirely "grain free" version as well but it costs a little more. |

My wife used to work for Blue Buffalo. She no longer does.
It's decent food, but overpriced for what it is. We usually get Taste of the Wild, Canidae, or one of the other grain free brands. |

Mine LOVES it. I really noticed a difference in her fur and poops when we started her on it. It is pricey but my girl's worth it.

Diamond naturals is what I was feeding. After this last recall I haved switched to a RAW diet, raw meat bones and organs. The dogs love it and if sourced properly the cost is about the same as I was paying for Diamond naturals. |

I'd also reccomend checking into Tractor Supply's house brand called 4health. Its a no grain food, rates as high as all but 1 BB mix and is about 1/2 the cost of BB.

Is it just me or is most dog food only coming in 30lb bags for the same price as the 40lb bags used to be?
I looked into both Blue Buffalo and Diamond, and they were close to 60 bucks for a 30 lb bag at the local Pet Smart. We don't have a Tractor Supply in WA, so I can't go there. Thoughts? |

You'll need to go to the Diamond Pet website and look at the dealer page. They do not advertise and sell to many smaller feed shops. You'll find better pricing there. |

Expensive but we like it, much less poop to pick up and they don't eat as much.
